The band Turkuaz is a powerhouse! 9 pieces in total and they bring a new meaning to the expression “powerfunk”. Self-described as the musical ‘Love Child’ between Sly and the Family Stone and the Talking Heads, they mix the elements of R&B, Pop and Soul in a powerful blend all their own that shakes the roof everywhere they play, that included the TLA in Philly, with The New Mastersounds.

Currently on a tour that started in early October, coming off performances at some prominent festivals such as; Mountain Jam, Peach Music Festival, High Sierra Music Festival, and the Lock’n Festival, that features The New Mastersounds as an opener, more a partner. The tour will last through New Year’s Eve ending in Providence RI. The group has done constant touring since 2012 molding the sound into a tight groove. The current tour is in support of their latest release, Digitonium. The latest of 8 total releases, starting with the self-named “Turkuaz” in 2013.

The New Mastersounds are a 4-piece fusion band from Leeds England that have been rocking together in one form or another since it’s 1997 start. An extremely tight sound rocks the place and is an unbelievable complement to Turkuaz on the stage.

During the show, members from the one band will sit-in on the other’s set, sometimes even doing a cover of one of the other band’s tunes, making even a sizable stage look extremely full, and the sound even fuller… Simply WOW!
