Meet Matt Bevan, metal music influencer and the newest signing to CB Entertainment. We wanted to go beyond the posts and get to know the person behind the content.
1. First things first- how do you pronounce your last name?
Is it BEE-van or BEV-an? We need the official ruling.
It is pronounced “beh-vn.” Not “bee-van!”
2. What originally got you into music?
Was there a specific band, album, show, or moment that hooked you?
Although it is hard to pinpoint an exact moment, hearing “Becoming the Bull” by Atreyu on Madden 08 was a huge kick-start into my musical influence. That song introduced me to more harsh vocals, and the rest is history!
3. When did you start making content, and what inspired you to actually start posting?
I started making content in 2020 during the COVID Pandemic. I was simply looking for something to do with my time, and I always liked the idea of making content. After much trial and error, I landed on making heavy music my niche, and here we are over 6 years later.
4. Was there a moment when you realized your content was really starting to take off?
Late 2020 was when I made my first ‘viral’ video in the metal scene. I kept posting, and the videos kept performing. That was when I knew I had tapped into the right community.
5. What do you think has helped you connect with so many people in the rock and metal community?
I like to think that most of my content is relatable. People see themselves in the videos, and that brings everyone together. We are all a big community, and I am lucky enough to have the platform I have to help foster that community further along with other creators.
6. What’s something about you that most people who follow you would never guess?
I am a huge soccer (or football) fan. I was born in England and support Liverpool F.C. and have done my whole life. If I am not listening to music, I am keeping an eye on all things LFC.
7. Favorite album of all time?
You only get ONE.
The Place I Feel Safest – Currents. I wish I wasn’t limited to one.
8. Who are three artists you’re listening to the most right now?
Fox Lake, Paleface Swiss, and Windwalkers are played a lot these days!
9. What’s the best concert you’ve ever attended?
That is a tough one to answer. I know this is not a “concert” but Aftershock 2025 (where my friends and I dressed up as Teletubbies) was maybe the most fun I’ve ever had at any concert or festival. The community, the bands, everything about it was amazing.
10. What are your favorite hobbies outside of music, concerts, and making content?
Liverpool F.C., golf, and fitness! I have my first Marathon next March!
11. What’s one band or artist you think deserves way more attention right now?
Fox Lake, as mentioned above. All their songs are bangers. But, in all honesty, there are tons of great bands out there. And I am here to show them to everyone!
12. If you could interview or hang out with any musician- living or dead- who would it be?
I’d probably go and hang out with the friends in Paleface Swiss (their whole team, from the band members to the crew, is full of amazing people).
13. What’s something you’d like to accomplish with your platform that you haven’t done yet?
I would love to hit one-million followers across all my platforms. Although numbers aren’t everything, that number would be a special one to hit.
14. What can people expect from Matt Bevan and CB Entertainment moving forward?
I think we can expect to see new video formats, new connections and opportunities in the music industry, and more fun. The sky’s the limit!
15. Last one: Give us one completely random fact about yourself.
I’ve never had Taco Bell. I know, crazy huh?
