In it’s inaugural year, Mondo NYC appears to have hit all the right chords with their summit and festival.
Having taken place in New York City this past week to brings together music, technology and innovation, New York City mayor Bill DeBlasio proclaimed September 14-18 Mondo NYC Day(s). Additionally, Daniel Glass of Glassnote Records made a statement during his keynote address about how nice it is to have Mondo NYC bringing together music, technology and media in New York City.
This 5-day summit and festival offered panel discussions at The Kimmel Center on the NYU campus during the day, featuring music industry heavy-hitters such as Ben Allison (President, Recording Academy, NY Chapter), Joi Brown (SVP, Marketing Brand partnerships at Atlantic Records), Sara Clemens (COO, Pandora), Mike Colantuoni (Music Director at WSOU FM), Matt DuFour (VP Artist Development, ReverbNation), Eric McLellan (A&R Sire Records/Warner Bros. Records) and many others.
And on Friday, Mondo NYC along with the Music Business Association presented an Entertainment and Technology Law Conference, which is an accredited Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) event. Participants included the most influential entertainment attorneys, accountants and business managers. The Entertainment and Technology Law Conference panels were open to all Mondo NYC registrants.
And at night, Mondo NYC presented live music showcases at venues in Manhattan and Brooklyn that brought out the best in emerging music. There were over 150 performances during the 5-nights of the festival.
It was a magical week with music fans, artists, tech pioneers and entertainment professionals all converging in New York City to celebrate music, technology and the entertainment industry.
I’m adding this summit and festival to my “to-do” list again for next year and I hope to see you there too!
