Beloved rock band Taking Back Sunday is gearing up for an electrifying spring/summer tour across North America in 2024, celebrating the success of their latest record, “152.” The highly anticipated two-part tour, featuring support from Citizen, will kick off on May 19th and run through August 17th, making stops in major cities like Dallas, Portland, Cleveland, Orlando, Boston, New York, and more.
Pre-sale and VIP tickets for the tour will be available starting on Wednesday, Dec. 6th, at 10 am local time, with the general on-sale following this Friday, Dec. 8th, at 10 am local time. Fans can grab their tickets and get more information about the tour on the official Taking Back Sunday website: www.takingbacksunday.com.
The band expressed their excitement about hitting the road, stating, “Man, just taking it all in. We’ve been on a whirlwind on finishing the record, getting everything ready to put it out, making all the plans. Now comes our other favorite part, getting to visit so many cities in North America and playing live.”
They also hinted at an eclectic setlist, saying, “The set will be a good mixture of albums, and the reception for ‘152’ has been so positive that we can’t wait to get out there and play some of those songs for the first time in these cities and make magic all summer.”
Produced by Tushar Apte and mixed by Neal Avron, “152” features 10 intensely vulnerable and absorbing new tracks. The album is characterized by fresh ambition and newfound purpose, inspired by the long layoff and the cloud of uncertainty that blanketed the world in recent years. It stands among the most genuinely reflective and emotionally pure efforts of Taking Back Sunday’s illustrious career.
In addition to the headline tour, fans in the NY/NJ area can look forward to the band’s annual holiday spectacular and a Holiday Pop-Up Shop and fundraiser on Dec. 16th, supporting Tamerlaine Sanctuary & Preserve in honor of the band’s longtime attorney Dave Stein.
For UK fans, Taking Back Sunday will be performing in Manchester, London, and Cardiff this March. A full list of upcoming shows can be found on their official website.
The album has received widespread acclaim, with Kerrang! praising it as “the best album of their career.” US Weekly notes that “152 pays homage to their early days while simultaneously honoring the men they are today.” Classic Rock applauds the band’s growth, saying, “there’s a more slow-burning, elegant, grown-up classic rock approach” on the album. PunkNews highlights the band’s musical expansion, and The Aquarian calls it “their most unique and most outstanding record to date.”
Taking Back Sunday has truly returned with a bang, and “152” is proving to be a remarkable chapter in their musical journey. Don’t miss the chance to catch them live on their North American tour – it’s bound to be a summer filled with unforgettable moments and incredible music.
